ALLEN COUNTY -
A $1 million dispute between Allen County and the city of Fort Wayne could cause a delay in renovating the City-County Building.
The Allen County Council on Thursday refused to pay $1 million to finish the renovation, with members saying the city needs to come up with the $1 million it pledged.
A city spokesman tells The Journal Gazette that Mayor Tom Henry has never wavered on the city's $1 million commitment. Spokesman Frank Suarez urged county officials to join Henry in working to resolve the issues.
Both sides say the other isn't cooperating with requests to meet.
County Commissioner Nelson Peters says without the $1 million, construction on the City-County Building will stop Dec. 1.
