INDIANAPOLIS - A N. Meridian Street bakery and restaurant has closed just weeks after it opened.

A sign posted on the door at Virginia Kay's, 2402 N. Meridian St., indicated that Wednesday was the final day for the business, a retail venture of local wholesale baker.

The note thanked customers for their support, and said that "wholesale and retail sales were too sluggish to sustain a production facility for our size".
