Jalen Duncan ran 16 yards for the winning touchdown with 23 seconds to go, capping an impressive comeback and lifting No. 2 Carmel to a 34-30 win over No. 1 Warren Central in a Class 5A sectional final Friday night.
Warren Central had a chance for a dramatic victory, but Race Johnson intercepted Kyle Faunce's desperation heave with no time remaining.
Sectional final scores
Carmel's Brandon Denning passed for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Damian Pennington caught seven passes for 116 yards and all three of Denning's scores for the Greyhounds (11-1).
Deionte Buckley ran for 165 yards on 30 carries and Kevin Davis caught two passes for 128 yards for Warren Central (11-1).
Carmel trailed 20-0 in the first half before mounting its comeback. The teams combined for 907 yards of offense.
