INDIANAPOLIS - Crews are starting to move debris from the collapsed stage at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
The stage came down in a wind gust two months ago, killing seven people and injuring dozens of others.
Crews hope to have the blue tarp and hoists removed by Tuesday. They plan to begin removing the roof system on Wednesday.
State Fair Commission spokeswoman Stephanie McFarland said Monday crews will dismantle the fallen rigging and move it to a warehouse where it can be studied to determine what caused the collapse. The collapsed stage has remained at the fairgrounds since it blew down Aug. 13 as the country duo Sugarland was preparing to perform.
A hearing is set for Wednesday over a civil search warrant served at the Stagehands union last week.
The union is contesting the search warrant obtained by the Indiana Occupational Health and Safety Administration. A union attorney argues the fair commission, not the union, employed the stagehands.
