INDIANAPOLIS - A death investigation is taking place after a body was found on the city's south side.
Police were called to the Travel Inn near US 31 and Thompson Road shortly before midnight after a body was reportedly found in an alley.
Officers found Dinesh Patel, 31, of Indianapolis, lying next to a trash dumpster suffering from apparent trauma. Medics at the scene pronounced Patel dead.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call IMPD detectives at 317.327.3475 or CRIME STOPPERS at 317.262.TIPS.
An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.
