INDIANAPOLIS - A new 9/11 exhibit is now on display at the Indiana War Memorial Museum.
The addition consists of a piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center and a newly designed banner commemorating the 911 tragedy. The steel is positioned so visitors can touch the beam.
The flag was designed by Wilhelmena Kennedy of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was initially part of the 12,000-motorcycle caravan that escorted the steel beams from Richmond to Indianapolis that will be on display at the 911 Memorial located at Ohio and West Streets in Indianapolis.
The banner was displayed on the back of the motorcycle owned by Larry and Marianne Hughes, a INDAR member. The banner is a gift of the Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Indiana War Memorial Museum is located at 431 North Meridian St. Indianapolis, IN. The hours of operation are 9-5 Wed-Sun and the admission is free.
