INDIANAPOLIS - The family of a security officer killed in the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair has filed a tort claim notice against the state.

Glenn Goodrich, 49, was working for ESG Security near the stage during the Sugarland concert August 13. He died when the rigging above the stage collapsed.

The notice is the first filed against the state relating to the accident at the fairgrounds.

"This serves as the first step in the process to help Heather and her young sons obtain the resources they need to survive as Glenn was the primary earner," said Carl Brizzi, the family's attorney.

Goodrich was one of six people to die in the collapse. A seventh person, 24-year-old Meagan Toothman of Cincinnati, was on life support awaiting surgery to donate her organs Monday afternoon.
