Southern Indiana man faces contempt for refusing to testify

Updated:
JEFFERSONVILLE -

A southern Indiana man faces a contempt charge after prosecutors say he reneged on an agreement to testify against his cousin in a double-murder case.

The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reports that Clark County prosecutors intend to seek a lengthy sentence for Robert Sheckles. During Ryan Sheckles' June murder trial, he refused to testify against his cousin in an angry outburst on the stand.

Robert Sheckles allegedly was a passenger in a pickup truck from which his cousin fatally shot 38-year-old Larry Morrow and his ex-wife, 30-year-old Shannon Howard Morrow, in August 2009 during a drug deal in Jeffersonville.

Ryan Sheckles was convicted in June of the murders and sentenced to 120 years in prison, largely on the testimony of a woman who was driving the pickup truck.
