Indiana man convicted in stabbing of two that killed one

Updated:

A southwestern Indiana jury has convicted an Evansville man in a stabbing attack that killed a man and wounded the assailant's ex-girlfriend.

The Vanderburgh County jury on Friday convicted 47-year-old Edward Lee Jackson of murder in the slaying of 47-year-old David "Scott" Devine and attempted murder for wounding 44-year-old Rosalie Clark at a motel. He'll be sentenced Sept. 2.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports Clark testified that Jackson stabbed her and then Devine on March 11.

Jackson testified that he did not stab Clark but stabbed Devine out of self-defense.
