Lebanon homes evacuated following gas leak

LEBANON - A neighborhood was evacuated following a gas leak in Lebanon Wednesday.

It happened just after noon at Ascot Drive and Citation Circle West on the northwest side of Lebanon.

Responders say a crew struck a high-pressure natural gas line on Ascot Drive and several large leaks had developed.

Police and firefighters evacuated approximately 12-14 residences, including a home daycare with approximately 10 preschool children.

Lt. Brent Wheat with Lebanon Police says the leak was capped at 2:25 pm. Police who were blocking the streets cleared their locations about twenty minutes after that.

The children at the daycare went home for the day when parents picked them up after the leak was detected.

No injuries were reported.
