INDIANAPOLIS - This is the 16th year for the WTHR Employment Opportunity Fair. It's part of the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration.
The job fair includes nearly 100 employers on site with positions available for all levels.
"You can come with any kind of background you want to this job fair because there is such a good representation of employers there. You have Eli Lilly, IU Health, Wishard Health Services, a lot of service industries as well," said Angela Cain, Eyewitness News.
The job fair also offers a free resume workshop and a free career development workshop. Attendees say any help goes a long way in this tough job market.
"It's so difficult. Just to get a job is hard but then let alone get something that you want to have as far as a job-wise, it's even harder, so if you could just get something to bring some money into the house that's better than having nothing at all," said Thomas Montgomery, job fair attendee.
"I can't find a job and the reason is because I'm looking for something that's over nine dollars an hour. Everything is minimum wage. I can't afford minimum wage. I have bills to pay, and I'm trying to get back on track," said Nashyia Rogers, unemployed.
The job fair lasts until 6:00 pm Thursday in the 500 Ballroom at the convention center.
