INDIANAPOLIS, June 20th—WTHR-TV (Channel 13) again has won more Emmy awards than any other single station in the regional competition. The Lower Great Lakes Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced the 2011 Emmy award recipients Saturday night at a ceremony in Cleveland. The region includes stations from Indianapolis, Cleveland, Toledo and Ft. Wayne.
This is the 16th consecutive year WTHR has dominated the regional Emmys. WTHR won a total of 20 Emmy awards; WISH and WFYI tied for the next highest count in Indiana with five statues each.
Channel 13 won Emmys in a variety of categories including investigative reporting, journalistic enterprise and weathercast. Several WTHR staffers also won in individual crafts categories which included awards for photography, graphics and technical achievement.
