Six injured in trailer park storm damage

Updated:

A possible tornado ripped through a trailer park in the 6000 block of West State Road 45 west of Bloomington around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

There was extensive damage to trailers in the park with only two trailers out of 12 to 15 trailers that were not damaged. One trailer flew about 50 to 60 feet before wrapping around a tree.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department six people were injured at the trailer park and transported Bloomington Regional Hospital. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening. The most serious injuries were two people with head trauma but both were stable when they were transported to the hospital.

Two children ages 13 and seven were trapped in the debris of a trailer and had to be rescued.  Both children were up and walking around after they were freed.
Authorities believe everyone is accounted for at this time.

Just a little south of the trailer park Dillman Farm's Jam and Jellies received damage to several of its buildings. One building had the back wall blown out.

There was also some damage to the roof of Sams Club at State Road 45 and State Road 37. There are numerous trees, and power lines down in the area. There were also several trucks that were overturned.
