Cedar City, Utah - Alex Young scored 27 points and Leroy Nobles 22 as IUPUI dominated the second half en route to a 87-61 victory against Southern Utah on Saturday night.
The Jaguars (12-10, 6-3 Summit League) trailed 43-40 at halftime before holding the Thunderbirds to 29.2 percent (7 of 24) shooting in the second half. At one point, IUPUI scored 22 straight points.
Christian Siakam added 15 points and Stephen Thomas 14 for IUPUI, which shot 65.2 percent (15 of 23) after intermission.
Ryan Brimley scored 19 points and Kyle Davis 13 for Southern Utah (6-13, 3-6).
A 19-5 run turned a five-point deficit into a 63-54 Jaguars lead midway through the second half, but the Thunderbirds' frustration had just begun. The 22-0 run over a period of 9:20, resulting in a 85-56 IUPUI lead with 1:46 to play.
The Jaguars scored 23 points off 13 Southern Utah turnovers.
