Muncie - Jarrod Jones had 10 points and a game-best eight rebounds to lead Ball State to a 64-55 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday.
Randy Davis scored 10 points, going 0-for-1 from the field but 10-for-10 from the free throw line, as the Cardinals (11-4, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) won their fifth game in a row, their longest streak in seven years.
Ball State made 30 of 42 free throws compared with just 3 of 10 for the Chippewas. Central Michigan committed 28 fouls to the Cardinals' 15.
Trey Zeigler's 21 points paced the Chippewas (4-12, 1-2). Jalin Thomas contributed 17 points.
Central Michigan scored the first seven points and led 30-25 at halftime. It was tied at 48, but Ball State put it away by scoring 10 of their last 16 points from the line.
The Cardinals are 3-0 in MAC play for the first time since 2003-04.
