Boone-Hendricks County Line - A semi driver was killed in a crash involving another semi trailer early Thursday morning.

It happened on I-65 northbound at the Boone-Hendricks County line.

Indiana State Police say Stephen Grogg, 32, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, was moving into the northbound lane from the emergency berm when a second semi, which was hauling two box trailers, struck Grogg's trailer.

The collision crushed the cab of the second semi and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hendricks County Coroner's Office. He has been identified as Steve Woosley, 60, of Warrensburg, IL. His family has been notified.

A passenger in the sleeping berth of Grogg's semi was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for observation. He did not suffer any life threatening injuries. Grogg was not injured.

Although both drivers were wearing their seat belts, that could not prevent the second semi driver from suffering fatal injuries.

The identity of the second driver will be released when the family has been notified.

Both lanes of I-65 NB were closed and traffic was detoured onto I-465. Emergency workers are working on crash reconstruction and removing the wreckage. Indiana State Police estimate that I-65 NB will be closed until about 11:30 am.
