Noblesville officer suspended after DUI arrest

Noblesville - Noblesville officer Darin Landers was suspended Saturday as a result of his arrest for driving under the influence.

IMPD officers arrester the 1st Class Patrolman in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

Patrolman Landers has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation, which has already commenced. The officer was off duty and not operating a city owned vehicle at the time of the incident.

"The community holds police officers to a high standard, on or off duty, and that is something we all understand and accept. We are obviously extremely disappointed that this arrest occurred and apologize to our citizens for letting them down." responded Noblesville Police Department's Chief of Police Kevin Jowitt.

Patrolman Landers is a 7]year veteran of the Noblesville Police Department and an active member of the Emergency Services Unit, Field Training and Evaluation Program and Honor Guard Unit.
