A Greene County breeder is in the legal dog house over unpaid taxes.

The State seized 120 small breed dogs from Love My Pets, a breeder outside Bloomfield. Owner Darlene Clark is charged with paying no income and no sales taxes since 2001. She owes the state more than $300,000.

The Humane Society of the United States helped remove the animals from the breeding pens in a trailer like the one used in the Michael Vic investigation.

Some of the animals were sick. The plan is to treat them, place them with rescue groups and find them adoptive home.

"Seizure, for one thing, puts her out of business.  So she doesn't have anything more to sell.  In fact, she's got a restraining order so she can sell any ways," said Andrew Swan of the Indiana Attorney General's Office.

The tax investigation began after consumers complained the breeder sold them sick puppies and wouldn't take them back.
Investigators then found all those and unpaid taxes.

The tax charges are civil ones now but the investigation is still underway and criminal counts are possible.
