Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Keith Wenning threw for two touchdowns and 130 yards to lead Ball State to a 31-17 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday.
Both TD throws hit Eric Williams, who also ran for another score and finished with 83 yards receiving and 77 yards rushing for the Cardinals (2-3, 1-0 Mid-American).
The Cardinals were up 14-3 at halftime and added another 14 points in the third quarter thanks in part to an 80-yard scoring run by David Brown, who finished with 117 yards on the ground.
The Chippewas (2-3, 1-2) made a push in the fourth quarter and picked up 14 points on touchdown passes by Ryan Radcliff to Cody Wilson and David Blackburn, but it was not enough.
Radcliff finished with 295 yards passing.
