Indianapolis - The family of Eric Wells has sent a letter to the head of the Baptist Ministers Alliance thanking him for calling for the termination of Indianapolis Public Safety Director Frank Straub.

City leaders have come under fire for the way the investigation into a fatal crash involving IMPD Officer David Bisard was handled.

In the letter to Dr. Stephen J. Clay, Aaron Wells writes, "My family and I believe there has been a total breach of public trust and not only in my son's case. The actions of Dr. Straub have contributed to a negative impact on Indianapolis. The lack of moral responsibility and the respect for the citizens in this city is beyond my comprehension. Mayor Ballard was viewed on video saying, 'I want to be the Mayor because we can do better in this city. I know we can do better.' The opportunity is now."

Straub has said he will not step down.

Aaron Wells also quotes the Bible in reference to his son Eric, saying, "You did not know my son, but if you had you would have loved him. He had a caring and giving heart for all people. 'Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.' (Proverbs 22:6) Eric was not turning, he had a passion for children who were in need."
