IMPD officers reject contract

Updated:

Indianapolis - Metro Police officers overwhelming rejected a new contract with the City of Indianapolis.

Only 126 accepted the four year contract while 748 voted against the plan.

Many officers says they are unhappy with wages and insurance, and do not like a proposal outlined by public safety director Frank Straub.

Dozens of detectives would be assigned to district beats and could be ordered back to the street when needed.
