YouRenew site pays for old electronics

Updated:
Saving money on your old electronics while helping to save the environment - that's the idea behind YouRenew.

The new online business will send you a pre-paid postage label so you can mail your old cell phone, lap-top, or other device and then, depending on the age and condition, give you cash.

They take the items, erase your information and either re-sell them or recycle them so they don't end up in landfills.

"People are actually starting to become more aware of these problems, and at the same time we're offering a solution that not only make sense for the environment but makes sense for our customers," said Bob Casey, cofounder.

People who recently turned in their old iPhones after the new one came out got over $100 cash.
