Eyewitness News Reporter Kevin Rader came to Indiana in July of 1990. Since then he has distinguished himself by receiving two National Edward R Murrow Awards, 7 Regional Murrows, a national Sigma Delta Chi award from the Society of Professional Journalists at the National Press Club in Washington DC and 27 Regional Emmy's.
He has covered many memorable stories including the September 11th terror attacks in New York City, the Oklahoma City bombing, the refugee crisis in Kosovo and the Mike Pence Vice Presidential campaign in 2016. He traveled with the Pence campaign to Pennsylvania and Ohio and scored an exclusive election night interview with the Vice President Elect.
He spends much of his time covering politics on Eyewitness News, but expanded his responsibilities to include traveling the state to tell stories found "Only in Indiana."
A native of Lexington, Nebraska, Kevin received his B.S. In History from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with minors in Social Science and Broadcasting. He was named Distinguished Alumni from UNK in 2007. Kevin and his wife, Tammy, have four children.
