One killed in Greenwood crash

Greenwood - An 18-year-old Indianapolis man died in a two-car accident on the Marion-Johnson County line.

Police say Alec Curtis was driving westbound on W. County Line Road near US 135 when he may have attempted to overtake another westbound vehicle. Police say as he began to pass, he lost control and struck an eastbound vehicle.

Curtis was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe he was not wearing shoes and may have been driving from the gym when the crash occurred.

The driver of the other car, 53-year-old Mark Seaman of Greenwood, was transported to Methodist Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with a possibly broken arm and leg.

Police do not believe Curtis was wearing a seatbelt and do not think alcohol was a factor in the crash.

County Line Road was closed in both directions around the scene of the accident.
