Police investigate east side woman's murder

Updated:

Indianapolis - Police are investigating the murder of a woman on the east side of Indianapolis.

Deneisha Watford died shortly after emergency crews arrived at the 1800 block of Bauer Road Wednesday night. An autopsy showed Watford had been murdered.

Friday afternoon, Watford's boyfriend, 32-year-old Robert Sarver, voluntarily came into the IMPD Homicide Office for questioning in her death. Police say Sarver is a "person of interest" in the case.

Sarver was arrested for strangulation and other charges involving another woman two weeks ago. He has not been arrested in Watford's homicide, which police continue to investigate.

If you have any leads on this case, call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
