Biostorage Technologies to create 125 new jobs in Indy

Posted: Updated:
Indianapolis - Indiana's strength in biotechnology and logistics is credited as the reason for a life science firm expanding in Indianapolis and creating 125 new jobs.

Biostorage Technologies will hire lab technicians, managers and supervisors for a $6 million facility near the airport. The mayor says the expansion is a perfect reason why other companies should consider Indianapolis.

Biostorage provides biomaterials storage and distribution for companies around the world.

"90 percent of our clients are actually outside Indiana," Dr. John Mills, Biostorage Technologies, said. "So, we are earning Indiana dollars from companies outside Indiana."

"If a company is going to locate and needs worldwide distribution or national distribution, we're perfectly positioned to do just that," Mayor Greg Ballard said.

The storage facility already employs 70 people.
