Fountain Co. couple accused of taping sex with children

Veedersburg - Police in Fountain County arrested a couple for molestation involving a two-month-old girl and accuse them of molesting at least three other children they babysat.

Samantha Light, 25, and 31-year-old Steve Quick for the molestations of their two-month-old daughter and a three-year-old they were babysitting. Police say they have four victims, but are expecting several more.

"You will get sick reading the charging affidavits," said Fountain County Sheriff's Deputy Bob Kemp. "This is just hideous."

Deputy Kemp has been on the job for 15-plus years, but says this case is just awful.

Police say Light worked out of the couple's home babysitting. Officers were brought tot he home after a three-year-old girl told her parents.

"[She] had made allegations that this woman that had been babysitting her had touched her inappropriately and taken pictures of her," Deputy Kemp said.

Eyewitness News learned the couple had moved into the house - Light's mother's - just a couple months ago, when Light was pregnant with the couple's first and only child. According to police, video of the couple molesting an infant child was taken as evidence.

"For sexual devices that were seen in the tape as evidence," Deputy Kemp said.

A grandmother of one of the victims told Eyewitness News Light had been one of the most trusted babysitters in town.

"Anyone would have not thought twice of leaving their child with Sam. I couldn't tell you anybody that would have suspected her," the woman said.

But police say they have plenty of evidence to suspect her and Quick.

"Right now, four victims total and we are still working on it, because we found out she babysat children, so we are trying to find out how many other children might be involved," Deputy Kemp said.

The couple's only child has been placed in CPS custody. They both have been charged with three counts of child molestation and one count of child exploitation. They are being held on a $100,000 bond.
