CARA Charities holds Indy 500 Fashion Show

Indianapolis - It's become fashionable to be at the CARA Fashion Show during the month of May. It's a social event and a chance for Channel 13 reporters and others to dress up and have a little fun. It's also an opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Watch the slideshow.

Money raised benefits Cara Charities - one of motorsports leading charitable organizations. Danica Patrick auctioned off a limited edition watch for $7,000.

The highlight of the show was clearly the arrival of the drivers. Pole winner Sam Hornish Jr. was sporting a fur. Two-time Indy champ Helio Castroneves was sporting the pink. Tony Kanaan wore black and white fur.

The crowd liked Vitor Miera's fur but seemed to like it better when he took it off. Ed Carpenter and his wife took the dog for a stroll and Speedway CEO Tony George hit the runway with his family.

Florence Henderson was one of the many celebrities at the Fashion Show, and Channel 13 anchors Anne Marie Tiernon and Julia Moffitt were looking spiffy in their fancy threads, along with Eyewitness Sports anchor Dave Calabro and his wife.

Thursday's event marks 25 years of fashion and style at one of the "must see" events of the month of May. It started in an empty retail area at Keystone at the Crossing on May 25,1982 and has now grown into an annual fashion extravaganza.
