

Kris Kirschner
Weekend Sunrise Anchor
A native of Indianapolis, Kris Kirschner joined the Eyewitness News team in 1997. She came to Channel 13 from WTHI-TV in Terre Haute where she was an anchor/reporter. Since then she's covered a variety of stories and beats earning her two Emmy nominations, Associated Press honors and recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists. She currently reports from the WTHR South Bureau and anchors weekend mornings.
Some of her most memorable assignments include the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, the 2002 Winter games in Salt Lake City Utah, the Pacers Playoffs (and riots) in Los Angeles and Purdue University's trip to the Rose Bowl.
But the production she's most proud of is her daughter, Kathryn. Kris, her husband and daughter currently reside on the south side of Indianapolis. You can watch Kris Saturday and Sunday mornings when she anchors Eyewitness News Weekend Sunrise.
