Bruce Kopp is co-anchor of Central Indiana's #1morning news broadcast, "Eyewitness News Sunrise."

Bruce is now in his 24th year anchoring "Sunrise." Hejoined Channel 13 in May of 1983 as a business reporter, then was named weekendevening anchor a year later. He moved to the early morning shift, anchoringEyewitness News "Sunrise" in 1990. He also co-anchored "EyewitnessNews at Noon" from 1990 until 2005.

Bruce can also be heard providing newscasts on Indianapolis RadioStations, 104.5 WJJK, and 95.5 WFMS.

Bruce began his broadcast career at several radio stations insuburban Chicago before attending Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.While at SIU, he worked as an evening news anchor, reporter, sports directorand news director at WSIU-TV. He graduated with a B.S. in Radio-Television.

Upon graduation, Bruce moved to Evansville, Indiana where heco-anchored the weekday 5pm & 10pm news on WEHT-TV. He also served asweekend evening anchor at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He has been honored over the years with first place awards foroutstanding coverage of spot news, general news, features and investigativereporting. The Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Presshave honored him with eight awards. "Indianapolis Monthly Magazine"Readers' Choice Awards named him "Best Early Morning Anchor" fourtimes over a five-year period.

Bruce's versatility as a field anchor has taken him across thecountry and overseas. He traveled to London, England for a series of reports ongroundbreaking medical efforts by Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical giant EliLilly and Company. He has covered the presidential campaign of Barack Obama,two national political conventions, a presidential inauguration, severalNational Consumer Electronics Shows, NCAA Final Fours in New Orleans,Minneapolis and Indianapolis and Major League Baseball annual meetings inHouston, Texas.

Bruce's community service involvement extends to a wide variety ofcharitable organizations. He regularly serves as a guest speaker and emcee forpublic service groups, and has participated at Central Indiana charity golfoutings, serving as emcee and celebrity golfer. He annually takes part inevents supporting Little Sisters of the Poor, Visiting Nurse Service, HendricksCounty United Way, Indiana Sports Corporation, and the Boys & Girls Club.For five years, Bruce helped organize the "Little Red Door Open"charity golf event. The event helped raise nearly $100,000 for the Little RedDoor Cancer Agency in Indianapolis. As an avid golfer, Bruce has fourholes-in-one, his most recent in October of 2013.

Bruce received his Bachelor of Science Degree from SouthernIllinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where he majored inRadio-TV/Journalism. His hometown is Northlake, Illinois in suburban Chicago.

Bruce is married. He and his wife have two sons. His hobbiesinclude golf, water-skiing, snow skiing and finding effective ways to keep hisfamily's beagle from chewing up furniture.
