Emmy award winning journalist Roger Harvey concentrates on political and investigative reporting and he is also a weekend anchor.

In 2006, Roger was honored with an Edward R. Murrow regional award for his reporting in Afghanistan. Roger was one of the first journalists to report live using a satellite videophone from Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan where he covered Indiana soldiers serving in Operation Enduring Freedom. Those reports also won a regional Emmy.

Roger covered Hurricane Katrina as the storm hit Mississippi and he reported on Indiana Task Force One and the mission to rescue victims in Gulfport and Biloxi. He also reported from New York City within hours of the September 11th attacks and he anchored from the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

His reports have been featured on network affiliates across the country in addition to MSNBC, CNN and Court TV.

Roger's investigative, political and general assignment reports have been honored numerous times, including being named Associated Press Reporter of the Year.

Roger has received awards from the Scripps Howard Foundation as well as the Radio-Television News Directors Association, the Washington D.C. and Cleveland Emmy chapters, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press.

The Indiana Broadcasters Association selected his investigative work as "Story of the Year". He also won a CASPER for community service in investigative reporting.

Prior to WTHR, Roger was the morning anchor and investigative reporter for WTVR in Richmond, Virginia. He started his career as an anchor/reporter in Florence/Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Roger graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He enjoys playing tennis and golf. He and his wife, Tonya, and their daughter Caroline Grace live in Carmel.
