Jennie Runevitch
Eyewitness News Weekend Anchor

Award-winning journalist Jennie Runevitch anchors Eyewitness News weekends at 6 and 11pm.

She joined the Channel 13 team as a reporter in January 2006 and also covers the South Beat for WTHR.

Jennie's work has earned her honors from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists, as well as Emmy nominations.

A Cleveland, Ohio native, Jennie also considers herself an adopted Hoosier.

After her first job as main anchor and reporter at WHIZ in Zanesville, Ohio, Jennie headed west to Indiana, where she anchored weekends and reported for WTWO in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She then ventured north, where she spent three years in South Bend, as the 5:30pm anchor and reporter at WNDU.

Now, Jennie is happy to call Central Indiana home!

Throughout her career, Jennie has covered a variety of stories including natural disasters, the Timothy McVeigh execution, riding shotgun at IMS with IndyCar legend Mario Andretti, flying with the USAF Thunderbirds and Pope Benedict XVI's first visit to the United States in New York City.

But she says central to every story - no matter the topic - is a human connection. Jennie enjoys sharing not only information, but also emotion and compassion with Hoosiers.

When not working, Jennie enjoys movies, music, reading, traveling with her husband (preferably to a beach), attempting to cook fun foods and attempting to jog. She's also a huge sports fan.
