Delphi - Was it bullying, hazing or assault? That is what police in Delphi are trying to determine following a locker room incident last week involving four Delphi High School students.

Delphi High School is the latest to field an allegation of locker room hazing, bullying or assault.

"My son had showered and put on some shorts and a T-shirt. The boys ages 17, 18 and 19 approached him, pinned him and held him against his will," said the father of the alleged victim.

That is when the man accuses one of the teens of making physical contact on the back of his freshman son.

"No supervision. No supervision whatsoever," said the boy's father.

The boy's parents took the matter to the school administration.

"The mother came to me on Friday and talked to me about an incident that happened in the locker room on Thursday," said Delphi Principal Barry Stone.

Stone says the school investigation determined there was an incident but there was no contact.

"She gave our athletic director a couple of witnesses who said they saw what happened. He did an investigation and talked to witnesses who said they saw what happened and basically the witnesses came up with information that was not consistent with their story so at the time he felt we should move on," said Stone.

The parents went to the police.

The boy's father said he's heard of "wedgies before, but now we have graduated to this point where they are actually making physical contact."

"Our department received a complaint about what happened at Delphi High School Our officer is still working on it," said John Chapman, Delphi Police Chief.

"Surely the schools have come to the conclusion that there needs to be some sort of supervision during these hours," said the boy's father.

The biggest difference between this situation in Delphi and that of Carmel is that law enforcement says its investigation will be wrapped up within a week.

The parents of the alleged victim say they would hope the school would enact a policy where any type of hazing or bullying would result in automatic expulsion.
