1. Contest Description. This promotion is sponsored by WTHR-TV and Kittles Furniture. Contest is void where prohibited. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these contest rules. Employees (and their immediate family members) of WTHR-TV, Kittles, our parent companies, third-party sponsors and vendors are not eligible. 2. Eligibility. To enter, you must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of one of the following central Indiana counties: Bartholomew, Benton, Blackford, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Fountain, Grant, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jackson, Jay, Jennings, Johnson, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Miami, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Shelby, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Union, Wabash, Warren, Wayne, Wells, or White. 3. How to Enter. Registration begins on May 28th, 2012 at 12:00am and ends June 18, 2012 at 11:59pm. Entry forms can be accessed by visiting www.wthr.com. Sponsor(s) is/are not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to transmission, technical, and/or network failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any hardware or software (whether originating with sender or Sponsor(s)), telephonic failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or the authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by Sponsor(s) in its/their sole discretion, and Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the promotion. Entrants must submit an essay of 500 words or less to nominate their ‘everyday hero.’  Entrants are also required to submit a photo of the hero’s room in need of a makeover. Bathrooms and Kitchens excluded. Five everyday hero finalists will be chosen at the discretion of representatives of WTHR and Kittles. Prizes: One Everyday Hero Grand Prize winner, selected from the five finalists, will receive a room makeover with the remaining four finalists receiving a certificate worth $1,000 in Kittles merchandise. Certificate is not redeemable for cash. Kittles will be the sole designer of the room makeover and will determine the materials used. The dollar value of the makeover not to exceed $10,000. 4. How the Prizes are Awarded. One Grand Prize winner will be announced during 13 Eyewitness News at 5pm ET on July 6, 2012. All five finalists are required to appear at the WTHR studios located at 1000 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN to appear in the live broadcast of the 5pm newscast on July 6th , 2012. Winner will also be notified by telephone, e-mail or mail. In the event you are the Grand prize winner you must allow access to your home for construction work and Eyewitness News documentation on or before September 1, 2012. Conditions of Acceptance: A valid driver’s license or other appropriate government-issued picture identification satisfactory to Sponsors is required to participate as a finalist or Grand Prize winner. To receive the winning prize, the winner must sign a Confirmation of Eligibility/Release Form: (i) confirming eligibility and compliance with the contest rules; (ii) granting Sponsors or their agents the right to use the name, likeness, voice, or picture of the winning contestant without compensation for the purpose of adv ertising and publicizing his/her winning the prize, including stories for 13 Eyewitness News; (iii) releasing Sponsors and their agents from any liability and agreeing to hold them harmless from any liability resulting from or related to the activities connected with acceptance of the prize. The contestant must also pay all applicable taxes. Winner must complete all necessary paperwork and contracts. Each finalist agrees to the use of his or her name and likeness in publicity without any additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Each finalist will be solely responsible for any and all local, state, and federal taxes. By entering this promotion, each winner acknowledges that WTHR-TV and Kittles have the right to publicize and broadcast the winner’s name, voice, and likeness, the fact that he or she won, and all matters incidental thereto. Only one room makeover will be provided; judge’s decisions are final. 5. Odds of Winning. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. 6. Limitation on Liability. By entering this promotion, each entrant forever discharges and releases Sponsor(s), its/their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the promotion, including, without limitation, responsibility for property damage, loss of life, or personal injury resulting from or in connection with participating in the promotion or from or in connection with use or receipt of the prize(s), however caused. 7. Sponsor's Reservation of Rights. All federal, state, and/or local rules and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. These official rules are subject to modification by WTHR-TV and its sponsors. WTHR-TV and its sponsors reserve the right to change or modify these rules as needed at any time during the contest. In the event of a dispute, all decisions made by the above sponsors are final and binding. Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right, in its/their sole discretion, to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of Sponsor's/Sponsors' web site(s), or who otherwise acts in violation of these official rules. Sponsor(s) further reserve(s) the right, in its/their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, or modify this promotion if, for any reason, the promotion is not capable of completion as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, technical corruption, or non-authorized human intervention that compromises or affects the administration, fairness, integrity, security, or proper conduct of the promotion.
