WTHR posts phenomenal ratings growth during November sweeps

INDIANAPOLIS, November 21— WTHR (Channel 13) announced Wednesday that according to household overnight ratings released by Nielsen Media Research, with one day remaining in the November 2012 sweeps period Eyewitness News continues to dominate and win all key newscasts, remaining a strong number one at 4:30am, 5:00am, 5:30am, 6am, 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm and 11pm. In addition, all key newscasts earned big ratings increases from the same time period a year ago.* Here is look at the ratings increases garnered by 13 Eyewitness News compared to November 2011:

In addition, at 5pm Monday through Friday, WTHR's 8.5 household rating handily beats the combined ratings of its two closest competitors-WISH with a 4.3 rating and WRTV's 3.4 rating. The same holds true at 5:30pm, where WTHR's 9.2 rating exceeds the combined ratings of WISH's 4.6 rating and WRTV's 3.4 rating.

At 6pm (M-F), Eyewitness News beats the combined ratings of ALL THREE of its competitors.  WTHR earned a 10.7 rating, compared to WISH with a 4.9, WRTV with a 3.3, and WXIN's 2.3. In addition, 13 Eyewitness News Nightbeat was the ONLY late newscast to gain viewers year-to-year, with a 3% ratings increase, while WISH dropped 17% and WRTV was off 6%.
