Workers slide piece of Ohio River bridge into place

It took less than two hours to slide a 100-foot concrete section into place on a bridge connecting Indiana and Kentucky.

Workers moved a massive new section of the Milton-Madison bridge into place on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River Thursday. The slide is a precursor to the movement of the main half-mile-long steel truss section of the bridge, which is expected to take place later this month.

Structural engineers say bridge will be safe to reopen to traffic after it is moved onto the permanent piers.
