A 65-year-old Indianapolis woman was struck and killed Sunday around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of 38th Street and Colorado Avenue.

Police told Eyewitness News reporter Carrie Cline that she was walking on 38th Street with her adult son when they were trying to cross the street.  The woman was in the middle of the road when a car was approaching and she continued across.  The driver saw her and tried to swerve to avoid her but slide on the wet pavement and struck the woman.

The 65-year-old was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
