Woman critically injured after car rear-ends school bus
A woman was critically injured after her car rear-ended a school bus Friday afternoon.
It happened on the Indianapolis southwest side at Sam Jones Expressway and Bradbury Ave.
Police say the bus had stopped at a set of railroad tracks. The woman in the car did not stop, and slammed into the back of the bus.
No children were on the bus. The bus driver and an aide were checked out at the scene.
The impact of the crash forced the car's hood underneath the bus' rear bumper, and the woman had to be extricated from her vehicle.
As of Friday evening, she was undergoing surgery in critical condition at Eskenazi Health.
