A band of slushy weather passed over Indiana overnight, creating traffic problems in the metro area before moving to the east as schools were ready to resume.

The icy conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses, prompted these schools in the eastern part of Indiana to delay classes by two hours Monday morning:

Blackford Baptist Academy
Eastbrook Schools-Marion
Lakeview Christian School-Grant County
Madison-Grant United Schools
Marion Schools
Peru Schools
Southeastern School Corp-Cass County
Jay School Corporation (3 hour delay)

Police responded to a number of property damage crashes in and around Indianapolis between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.  The incident with the most impact was a jack knifed semi-trailer that shut down traffic on eastbound Interstate 865 for a good portion of overnight.

A motorist that hit the semi was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
