Winter Weather Advisory Wednesday night and Thursday
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for central Indiana from 7 p.m. Wednesday night until 7 p.m. Thursday night. Accumulating snowfall is expected. Total accumulations of 3 to 5 inches with isolated higher amounts are possible.
Counties in the advisory area:
Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Sullivan, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, Jackson and Jennings.
Roads may become slippery and hazardous due to snow. Blowing snow may reduce visibility and travel may become difficult. Snowfall will overspread the area Wednesday evening with all of central Indiana experiencing snowfall by midnight. Snowfall will taper off late Thursday morning with some snow showers persisting into the afternoon and evening hours aided by Lake Michigan.
Sub-zero wind chills will be possible across central Indiana at times from Thursday onward. Drifting may occur Thursday as winds gust to 30 mph.
A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
