Wind Chill Warning issued for central Indiana
It is a very cold morning in Indiana. During the morning rush hour, temperatures will continue to drop with wind chills ranging from -20 to -30.
Eventually we'll reach a high of 5 degrees.
Tonight , we drop down to -2.
Please take precautions from the cold. It is a good idea to check on those in need. Your pets and home will also need extra attention.
It is a wind chill warning for the northern half of Indiana and a wind chill advisory south. Regardless, this chill is dangerous.
There is more sunshine in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be stuck in the single digits on Tuesday, but the double digits return for the rest of the week.
Wind Chill Warning
A Wind Chill Warning has been issued for central Indiana.
Arctic air moving into the state is bringing below-normal temperatures and wind chills. The coldest temperatures are expected to be overnight into Tuesday morning. Low temperatures overnight will start at -4 degrees with wind chills falling as low as -35 degrees.
The following counties are under the warning:
Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby and Rush.
Frostbite and hypothermia can occur with prolonged exposure to extreme cold temperatures and power outages are also possible.
The Wind Chill Warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday, when it is replaced by a wind chill advisory until noon Wednesday.
