Weekend starts wet, gets warmer
The weekend will start wet. By late Friday night, rain totals were in the range of .10-.25″. The rain will continue to fall overnight and early Saturday, with rainfall potential of .50″-.75″. The rain will end by late morning Saturday.
With rain and melting snow, flooding will be a concern this weekend. Lowland and street flooding will come first overnight and on Saturday. As the snow continues to melt, river flooding becomes the issue. By late Sunday, most of our major rivers go under flood warnings. If you live near a river, you will need to monitor levels closely through next week.
High temperatures will be in the 40s through Monday. Our next weather system arrives Monday. It will start as rain and then change to snow later Monday night and early Tuesday. We will keep you updated on the timing and how much rain and snow will fall. There will be more cold air next week too. Highs on Wednesday are only forecast in the 20s and by Friday only in the teens.
