As Indy gets ready for another WARMFest this summer, a special reunion on Sunday, Aug. 10th, will commemorate the WNAP Raft Race.

The raft races dates back to the 1970s, when it was hosted by the rock rebels of WNAP. The reunion will take place in three locations: White River Yacht Club, Broad Ripple Park, and the stretch of the mighty White River between the two.

It's all free and open to the public.

Starting at noon, relive the past at the White River Yacht Club. Festivities include music from DJ Dr. Spin, vintage Raft Race video footage and a meet and greet with your favorite WNAP jockeys. Scheduled to appear include WNAP legends: Cris Conner, Fast Freddie Fever, Ann Craig, Bruce Munson, Ron Below. Dig out those old photo albums because there will also be a photo contest for "Coolest Raft Race Photo Ever."

While it's not really a race, participants are encouraged to bring a sea worthy watercraft and join the fleet. Motorized watercrafts will need to launch from the public boat ramp at Broad Ripple Park, just inside the main entrance to the left.

The party continues until 6pm at Broad Ripple Park where Warm up to WARMFest will have live music, yoga and tai chi programs, arts & crafts booths, drinks, food trucks, and a paddlewheel boat.

Donations collected from the WNAP Raft Race 40th Reunion will benefit Fathers and Families Center, an organization that helps young, low-income fathers and expectant fathers become responsible and involved parents.
