Warm, muggy weekend may also include scattered storms

While there will be many dry hours, this holiday weekend will have stormy periods.

A few scattered storms are possible through the afternoon. It will be a warm and muggy day with temperatures climbing into the mid 80s. The winds will be breezy too, out of the southwest from 5 to 15 mph with gusts around 20 mph.

Scattered storms become likely this evening. If we have sufficient sunshine this afternoon, storms could become widespread. Localized heavy downpours will be possible too. Storms will continue into Sunday morning with a low in the upper 60s.

At this point, it looks like we may have a break in the storms Sunday afternoon. There is still a chance of an isolated shower or storm, mainly late day. It will be a bit cooler with a high in the low 80s.

Labor Day will be sticky with storms developing by late afternoon through the evening as a cold front arrives. The Storm Prediction Center has Indy and west central Indiana outlined for a slight risk of severe weather Monday into Tuesday morning. Your SkyTrak13 Weather Team will be monitoring this over the next 36 hours.

The warm and muggy conditions continue through next week with temperatures running above normal.
