Walkerton man injured using a grenade launcher
Indiana Conservation Officers say a northern Indiana man sustained arm injuries while using a grenade launcher at a private shooting range.
Conservation Officer Cpl. Ashlee Jackson says 41-year-old Kevin Patterson of Walkerton was injured about 12:30 p.m. Sunday when an aerial illumination round, similar to an aerial firework, detonated in the launch tube at a private range in Marshall County.
He was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he was undergoing surgery Sunday evening.
Jackson says the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
