Voting for State Fair's Vocal Throwdown runs through July 20

The Indiana State Fair’s second annual Vocal Throwdown competition attracted 78 young singers from around the state whose audition videos are now available for public voting, which runs through July 20.

The contest was open to any non-professional performer ages 6-21 who is a current Indiana resident. The junior division consists of anyone ages 6-15, and the senior division is for anyone ages 16-21.

The top 10 vote-getters in each division will be invited to perform Aug. 2 on the State Fair’s Subaru Main Street Stage and will sing before a panel of judges. The judges will pare down the competitors to five finalists in each division who will perform again Aug. 9, the day two division champions will be crowned.

The winners in each division will receive $500 and a trophy, second place finishers will receive $250 and third place finishers will receive $100. A complete list of contest rules and requirements can be found here.
