Volunteers still offering help in tornado recovery
Volunteers in the Kokomo area are trying to get word out that they are still available to help people still trying to recover from two tornadoes and severe storms that hit the city in November.
The Kokomo Tribune reports a group of volunteers were out Saturday to let tornado-ravaged neighborhoods know there is still help out there if needed. The volunteers are part of the long-term recovery team established after the Nov. 17 tornadoes to help clean-up and aid people in need.
United Way of Howard County communications director Beth Rattray says people needing help should call 211. Rattray says there still a lot of work to do, saying volunteers are still seeing homes with tarps on roofs.
