The Wholesale District is looking cleaner after the community brought their buckets and brooms Monday morning.

The 7th Annual Beautification Day brought out more than 165 volunteers to help get the city ready for all the visitors coming this month. Participants know that travelers will be coming from around the world to get a look at Indianapolis.

"The city is becoming more and more international, so the more visitors we have come here - it's a first impression, a lot of them, for the States. We want them to get a really good impression of the Hoosier hospitality and how clean we are," said one volunteer, Eugene Hilliard.

The volunteers tidied up the space between New York, Delaware, South and West streets downtown.
