Vietnam vet from Evansville gets Purple Heart 46 years late

An Indiana man wounded in the Vietnam war received a big honor almost five decades later.

James Below accepted his Purple Heart medal during a ceremony in Evansville Wednesday.

Below was injured in Vietnam when his truck hit a land mine. He never received his medal because the paperwork got lost as he moved around the country.

"It means a lot - after 46 years," said Below, fighting back tears.

Below was a reservist until 1995.
