Update on US-31 construction Tuesday, Wednesday nights in Carmel
Residents in Hamilton County Tuesday night got their first chance to learn about the closures relating to construction on US-31.
A public hearing began at 5:30 p.m. at Carmel High School.
Starting around April 4, US-31 will be closed between Old Meridian and 136th streets, according to Nathan Riggs with the Indiana Department of Transportation. IN-DOT leaders hope to have all stop lights removed from an eight mile stretch of US-31 by the end of the year and all lights between I-465 and IN-38 by the end of 2015.
The same presentation will be given Wednesday at Westfield Middle School. An open house will begin at 5:30 with a formal presentation running from 6:00 - 8:00.
